Congratulations on your engagement! This is such an exciting time and there are so many things to start thinking about while you plan your special day. Step 1: Announce It!

Spread the news! You’re so excited to announce your engagement to all of your friends and family. If you’re considering throwing an engagement party – now is the time!

Step 2: Choose a Date

Also – you should start to think about when or what time of year you want to get married. Typically, venues are booked a year or more in advance for weddings. If you have your heart set on a date, you’ll want to begin searching for a venue fairly quickly. Some things to take into consideration when choosing your date are:

• Dates that are symbolic to you
• What season it will be
• Holidays surrounding that time.
• Ask your important guests if there are dates that may not work for them

Step 3: Start a Guest List

Of course you want all of your friends and family to be in attendance but that can be hard! Budgets can put a constraint on this unfortunately. Before you begin looking for a venue, it’s smart to have a rough draft of how many guests you’re looking to have. That will help you figure out how small or large of a venue you need! 

Step 4: Creating a Budget

This isn’t the most exciting part of wedding planning, but it’s important to figure out the financial information. There are a lot of details to a wedding – take into consideration which ones are the most important. From there, you can create a budget of how much you want to spend on all of the different aspects of your wedding. 

Step 5: Enjoy
