COVID-19 has taken a toll on everyone in 2020. In someway shape or form, everyone knows someone who was affected. The Wedding Industry has taken a huge hit due to social distancing and crowd limitations.
Normally this time of the year is very exciting for us – wedding season begins to ramp up in April. As event planners, we are finalizing details, talking to vendors, meeting with brides and every other task in between. This year has been a little bit different. our phone calls have consisted of consoling brides and grooms who have had to cancel, postpone and reschedule their special day. We’ve been a support system, listened, talked and helped as much as we can to many brides. In lieu of events – we have donated 10,000 meals to essential staff workers all around the Capital Region.
We understand hair salons, gyms and restaurants have also been hit hard and empathize with all of their staff on how difficult it has been. We have been out of work since March 23rd with no date to open in sight, no guidelines on restrictions on guest capacity allowance or how to handle this situation.
However, that does not stop us from creating our own plans. Here at Seasons Catering – we are committed to creating a plan. As New York begins to reopen – we are working towards this plan to safely host and serve guests. We look forward to hosting weddings and corporate events again when it is deemed safe to open. Stay tuned to our blog and social media on how and when we’ll do so.
