07 Apr Meet the Team – Jennifer Eglin

This week, we’ll meet our Certified Wedding Planner and Sales Manager, Jennifer Eglin !

What led you to this career?

I absolutely loved planning special events with my friends and family and was always the planner/executor for them. I originally went to college to practice law (Right, I know! – me who hates confrontation and arguments wanted to be a lawyer LOL). Needless to say, I made it 3 semesters.

From there, I was a waitress for about 17 years, making amazing money, so I never thought about going back to school. Then one day, my boyfriend decided to propose and during my planning process for my own wedding – I found that I really loved every aspect of it. So I decided to go back to school and get my wedding and event planning certificate! I started off on my own, just planning friends and families birthday parties, bridal showers and baby showers, while still being a waitress. One of my closest friends had gotten engaged and asked me to be her planner and I did everything I possibly could to make it as special for her as I did for myself. It came out more beautiful then she could have ever imagined. After that, a guest at her wedding called me and asked me to help plan her wedding!

During that time, I was working as a waitress for a company who also owned a wedding venue. The owners saw me one day at a diner picking out flowers and going over details with my bride, they turned around and took me out from waitressing to planning events and weddings at their venue as a sales girl! After that, I took a leap of faith and called Belinda, the owner of Seasons Catering, who had been asking me for years to come work for her as her Sales Manager and Wedding Planner. She took a leap of faith in me and let me put everything I learned into play and do everything I loved full force. And here I am making every little girls dreams come true a decade later!

What’s your favorite part about a wedding or social event?

Seeing the groom watching the bride walk down the aisle the first moment he sees her. I swear I cry almost every time at every ceremony during that moment!

What is something you’re wanting to add to an event or wedding?

Everything! Honestly, I think I’m worst on Pinterest and Etsy then half of my brides LOL!

What is your favorite quote?

“I have Faith!” I know, seems a bit outlandish but I truly do. I believe everything happens for a reason. I believe there is always a solution to every problem and I always try my absolute best to fix it no matter how big or small!

Are you a dog person or a cat person (or neither)?

Ummmm, thats a silly question. anyone who knows me knows I love my puppers! I have the cutest little (she’s not really that little, she’s 65lbs LOL) boxer and her name is Princess Kyra and literally has more photos on my social media then I do.

What’s the top destination on your must-visit list?

Italy! It is absolutely stunning and I really want to take that photo in front of the Tower of Pisa pretending to lean on it and hold it up so it doesn’t fall over.

What song would you say best sums you up?

Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield. Shocking right!

Which meal is your favorite: breakfast, lunch, or dinner?

All of them plus snack time, again if you know me, you know I like to eat food and A LOT of it!

Would you rather spend a day at the beach or poolside?

Honestly, neither. At home on my couch playing candy crush. Yes I crush candies and a lot of them!

What’s the best piece of advice a family member has given you?

“Never give up. Always be yourself and never ever stop smiling.” I have always been told that when I walk into a room my smile always makes everyone else smile. There’s not enough time in life to be miserable so let all the bad stuff go and never ever hold grudges!

What’s your favorite place to eat around town?

Honestly, I am embarrassed to say but Burger King. I cannot get enough of those Original Chicken Sandwiches with extra Cheese & Mayo. I know right?! How am I not a million pounds LOL!

What is one piece of advice you would give others?

Always treat others the way you would want to be treated, be kind, be loving and ALWAYS SMILE!
